Delete Your Account

Effective Date: May 22, 2026 | Last Updated: May 22, 2026

1. Delete Your PantryPrix Account

Account deletion is permanent: it removes your PantryPrix account and all associated personal data. This page describes how to delete your PantryPrix account and all associated personal data. PantryPrix is operated by Kinetic Flux LLC, doing business as PantryPrix.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once you delete your account, your profile, pantry, recipes, photos, shopping list, achievements, and saved preferences are removed from our systems and cannot be recovered.

2. Option 1: Delete From Your Profile

The fastest way to delete your account is from your Profile, on the web or in the mobile app:

  1. Open the PantryPrix app on your iOS or Android device, or sign in at pantryprix.com on the web.
  2. Go to your Profile (the rightmost tab in the mobile app, or the Profile page on the web).
  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom and tap or click Delete Account.
  4. Type DELETE in the confirmation dialog to confirm. This is required to prevent accidental deletion.
  5. Confirm with the destructive button to complete the deletion.

Your account is deleted immediately. You will be signed out and returned to the start screen.

3. Option 2: Request Deletion via Contact Form

If you no longer have access to the app, or prefer to request deletion through the web, use our contact form. Include “Delete my account” in your message along with the email address associated with your PantryPrix account so we can verify ownership.

We respond to deletion requests within 30 days, typically within a few business days.

4. What Data is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Profile information: name, email address, dietary preferences, allergies, and notification preferences.
  • Authentication credentials: your Cognito user record, Apple Sign In link (if used), and Google Sign In link (if used).
  • Pantry items: every item you have added (name, quantity, unit, category, expiration date).
  • Saved and generated recipes: every recipe associated with your account, including AI-generated history.
  • Photos: all images you have uploaded (pantry items, receipts, cooked recipes) including the underlying files stored in Amazon S3.
  • Shopping list: all items in your shopping list, including check-off history.
  • Achievements and stats: earned achievements, leaderboard entries, cooking streaks, and total points.
  • Credit balance: any remaining recipe-generation credits and ledger history.
  • Push-notification tokens: APNs (iOS) and FCM (Android) device tokens registered to your account.
  • Family-sharing links: your membership in any family group; the group itself persists for remaining members.

5. What Data is Retained

A limited set of records is retained only where required by law or for legitimate business purposes:

  • Subscription and purchase records: records of purchases made through Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe are retained for tax, accounting, and audit purposes as required by applicable law (typically 7 years in the United States). Personal information is stripped from these records where possible; only the financial transaction record remains.
  • Anonymized usage statistics: aggregated, de-identified statistics that do not identify you may be retained for product analytics.
  • Diagnostic logs: request logs containing partial-redacted identifiers roll off automatically within approximately 30 days of generation.
  • Encrypted backups: data may persist briefly in encrypted point-in-time-recovery backups (up to 35 days) before aging out automatically.

None of the retained data can be used to identify you or contact you after deletion is complete.

6. Deletion Timeline

  • In-app deletion: immediate. Your account is removed from active systems before the confirmation dialog dismisses.
  • Email request: processed within 30 days of receipt, typically within a few business days.
  • Backups: encrypted point-in-time-recovery backups age out within 35 days of deletion.

7. Deleting Some Data Without Deleting Your Account

You don't have to delete your account to remove specific data. Within the PantryPrix app you can:

  • Delete individual pantry items (swipe-to-delete on the Pantry tab).
  • Delete individual saved recipes (delete action on the Recipes tab).
  • Delete individual uploaded photos.
  • Clear your entire shopping list.
  • Disable push notifications (in-app Notification Preferences, or in iOS/Android system Settings).
  • Unsubscribe from marketing email through the link in any marketing message we send.

To request bulk deletion of a specific data category without closing your account, contact us through our feedback form and describe what you want removed.

8. Active Subscriptions

Deleting your PantryPrix account does not automatically cancel an active subscription billed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. To stop future billing, cancel the subscription with the billing platform before or after deleting your account:

  • Apple App Store: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → PantryPrix → Cancel Subscription.
  • Google Play: Play Store app → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → PantryPrix → Cancel subscription.
  • Web (Stripe): sign in at pantryprix.com, go to Profile → Subscription → Manage Subscription. (You will need to do this before deleting your account.)

If you delete your account with an active subscription, the subscription will remain billable through its current period. Apple, Google, and Stripe handle their own refund policies. PantryPrix cannot issue refunds for those transactions.
